As coronavirus deaths are climbing past 440,000 in the United States, so are the numbers of people that find themselves with long-term issues COVID has left them with, also referred to as "post-acute COVID 19 syndrome." The symptoms can be severe even months after a person has technically recovered from the disease. People have long-term and serious consequences that can even prevent them from going back to work.
We are dealing with and helping a number of people who have been exposed to COVID 19 and even though the virus is no longer identified in them, they are dealing with persistent symptoms that are debilitating them. #1 Extreme Fatigue
You might suffer from "extreme fatigue" even after you clear the virus and it is strikingly similar to myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. People just don't seem to be able to get back to normal energy levels or normal feeling of good health. One hallmark symptom of ME/CFS is post-exertional malaise, a crashing after exertion.
#2 Muscle Aches
Another key symptom of long-term COVID effects and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome is muscle aches and pains, or myalgia. They can be anywhere — your torso, your back, your legs and in some cases, like costochondritis, can feel like a heart attack (but isn't). We also see heart rhythm issues people experience.
#3 Temperature Dysregulation
You may have temperature dysregulation and circulatory system issues that can be present. Even in cases where a person was in excellent health prior to getting infected with COVID 19 and their fever and respiratory symptoms have improved, they are left with persistent systemic symptoms that in some cases don't improve.
#4 Brain Fog
Some people experience what we call 'brain fog' or lack of mental clarity, where it's very difficult for them to focus or to concentrate and can be really disturbing to their ability to function well. This is often paired with central nervous system issues we find in people's body-field scan.
#5 Food Sensitivities
You may experience increased food sensitivities you did not have before COVID 19, where the auto-immune system and certain areas of the digestive system, that had been impacted by the coronavirus, are having difficulties to recover.
